Dr. Helen Obioma Agu is a Senior lecturer in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria and presently the Head of Department of Food Science and Technology. She got her B.Sc. (Food Science and Technology) in 1991 from University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), M.Sc. (Food Microbiology) in 2004 from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Nigeria, PGDE in 2006 from National Teachers Institute (NTI) affiliated to Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto, Nigeria, Ph.D (Food Science and Technology) from University of Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria in 2014 and PGD in Business Administration from National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Enugu, Nigeria in 2017. Her interest is in food processing and preservation, product development and food security. She has published thirty-one journals locally and internationally with thirty-five conference proceedings and attended conferences within and outside Nigeria. She has served as co-author of four books and as editor and reviewer of several journals and book of proceedings. She is a registered member of Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST), Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) and Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM). She is a wife of one husband and three lovely children.
