Profile of Professor Christiana Amaechi Ugodulunwa
Christiana Amaechi Ugodulunwa is a Professor of Educational Measurement and Evaluation in the Faculty of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. She was born on December 17, 1959 in Umuoji, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, Nigeria. She obtained her first degree at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1984 and her M. Ed and Ph. D degrees in 1991 and 1997 respectively, in Educational Measurement and Evaluation at the University of Jos, Nigeria. She later bagged a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation Methods in 2008 from Stellenbosch University, South Africa under University of Jos Carnegie-Partnership Project Scholarship Scheme. Her research interest is basically educational evaluation with emphasis on instrumentation, use of assessment as transformative tool, assessment for learning, and programme monitoring and evaluation. She is a Fellow of the Association of Educational Researchers and Evaluators of Nigeria (ASSEREN), member of the Nigerian Academy of Education, Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA) and the International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA). She is also a Lady of the Knights of St. Mulumba, Nigeria.
Prior to joining Nnamdi Azikiwe University in 2021, she taught educational research and statistics, measurement and evaluation courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Jos from 1992 to 2016. She taught in Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State from 2016 to 2019. She serves as External Examiner and Assessor to many Universities in Nigeria for promotion of academic staff. She has published widely in many national and international journals. She has also served as consultant to Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Nigerian Educational Research Development Council (NERDC), National Universities Commission (NUC), Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), National Examinations Council (NECO), and Council for Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA).
