Dr. Henry Chigozie Duru is an academic at the Department of Mass Communication, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in mass communication, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in mass communication and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in mass communication, specialising in political communication and print journalism. Dr. Duru was active in the field of journalism for over a decade, starting as a reporter with Daily Independent newspaper and later Champion newspapers, both in Lagos. He thereafter worked with Orient Daily newspaper as a reporter before assuming the post of the Chief Sub-Editor and later News Editor. His last active journalism engagement was at The Oracle Today newspaper where he worked as the Production Editor and eventually the News Editor. Dr. Henry was once the Financial Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council. Currently, he teaches at the Department of Mass Communication, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. As an academic, he belongs to a number of professional associations and has to his credit many journal articles and conference papers.
