Nnaemeka Chukwudum Abamara is currently an Associate Professor (Reader) in Clinical/ Cardiac Psychology and Mental Health at the Department of Psychology, Clinical Psychology Unit at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Anambra State Nigeria.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.sc) degree in Psychology and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He also earned a Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Anambra State Nigeria. He had a certificate in Preventing Dementia from the University of Tasmania, Australia. He has previously taught at the National Open University of Nigeria, Owerri Study Center, Imo State from 2006 to 2007, before joining Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in 2007 where he has been teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students to date. He was on secondment at the Department of Mental Health and Psychiatry, Faculty of Clinical Medicine and Dentistry, Kampala International University, Western Campus, Ishaka Uganda East Africa where he taught undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and supervised their projects and thesis.
He is a senior member of the Nigerian Psychological Association (NPA), member of the Nigerian Association of Clinical Psychologists (NACP), Member, of the Nigerian Society of Psychical Research (NSPR), and Member, of the International Society for Development and Sustainability (ISDS) Japan.
He has over seventy researched international, regional, and national articles in reputable journals to his credit. He has two published books on the science of Psychology. The third book is currently under publication.
He is a registered, chartered, and practicing Clinical Psychologist with a wide range of experience. Dr. Nnaemeka C. Abamara is the CEO/Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Nedal Psychological Clinic International, a corporate organization for clinical, assessment/evaluation, psychotherapy, rehabilitation, and human resources development.
He was the editor-in-chief and Editor of some journals in Nigeria. He has served as a reviewer and editorial board member of some journals around the globe.
He is an expert in Neuropsychological testing and has designed three reliable manual dexterity/neurological tests awaiting mass production. He is an accomplished Clinician, orator, and motivational speaker. He is married with children.
