Miss. Emmanuella Obiageli Ejichukwu

Staff Profile

Ms. Emmanuella Obiageli Ejichukwu is a Lecturer II in the INDUSTRIAL AND PRODUCTION ENGINEERING Department, Faculty of Engineering, at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. As an Industrial and Systems Engineer, her work focuses on designing, analyzing, and improving complex systems with people at the center. Her background is grounded in industrial engineering principles, including systems optimization, human factors, decision-making, and data-informed analysis, applied to real-world engineering and educational contexts. As a researcher, she studies how humans interact with engineered systems, particularly in learning and decision-making environments. Her work examines human–technology collaboration, including the use of data-driven and AI-supported tools, to improve performance, understand cognitive demands, and support equitable outcomes. She approaches this work with methodological rigor and a strong emphasis on ethical responsibility. As a human-centered designer, she integrates user needs, contextual constraints, and system-level tradeoffs to inform design decisions. She is particularly interested in how industrial engineering methods can be applied to design systems that are not only efficient but also user-friendly, inclusive, and socially responsible. As an engineering educator, she teaches and mentors future engineers, guiding them to model systems, evaluate trade-offs, and consider the human and societal implications of engineering decisions. I am committed to creating inclusive learning environments that prepare students for both technical excellence and professional responsibility. Across research, design, and teaching, she is guided by the belief that industrial engineering is most impactful when it combines systems thinking with human-centered values.
