I am a Consultant Paediatrician and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Paediatrics, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus, Anambra State, Nigeria, with a special interest in Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
As the Pioneer Team Lead of the Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics Unit at NAUTH/Pioneer Director, Center for Neurodevelopmental Disorders, NAU, I oversee clinical services, research, and training focused on neurodevelopmental and behavioural conditions in children.
My work is driven by a passion for improving child and adolescent health outcomes, especially among vulnerable and underserved populations. I integrate clinical care, research, teaching, advocacy, and mentorship to support a holistic model of paediatric health.
I’ve presented my work at national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals, with contributions in areas such as:

I’m the Founder of the Ùbùrùobiaka Foundation, which supports street-connected children and those with developmental disabilities through care, education, and reintegration.
I also founded SLASH 2 HEALTH, a wellness movement promoting health through mindfulness, nutrition, and fitness. As an Editorial Board Member of the British Journal of Guidance and Counselling, I contribute to global conversations on youth wellbeing.
I currently serve as Principal Investigator to the TETFUND NRF grant titled 'Advancing Mental Health and Well-Being of Nigerian Children through Public Health Screening for Fragile X Disorders,' a pioneer national initiative aimed at screening for and managing fragile X syndrome, which is the single most common cause of inherited intellectual disabilities.
I am also the principal investigator of the Royal Society for Tropical Health and Hygiene/London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene research grant titled 'Back to School and Healthy: Reintegration, Health Support, and Caregiver Empowerment for Street Children in Nnewi.' This project supports development in vulnerable populations.
My long-term goal is to advance translational research and policy that improves early diagnosis, inclusive care, and developmental and mental health support for children across Africa and the world.
