Chioma Christiana Akuneme Educational Psychology and Language Learning Chioma Akuneme is a lecturer of Educational Psychology at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. She has been lecturing at the University since 2019. She works with a group of other educational psychologists at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Educational Psychology is focused on how psychological principles and techniques can be applied to solve educational problems. Our group of educational psychologists have dual focus on understanding developmental stages of learners and it's psychological influence on their learning and also on special education of children with special needs. Specifically, Chioma Akuneme and her group’s research interests are centered on: Psychology of learning, Language learning, Special needs education and educational/developmental psychology. Till date, Chioma Akuneme has carried out researches to understand the influence of some psychological principles, techniques and or concepts on language learners' communication apprehension; influence of academic motivation, prior knowledge and self efficacy on third language learners' communication apprehension. She has also carried out empirical studies on teachers' willingness to teach children with special needs. Chioma Akuneme has a strong record of collaborating with other educational psychologists from her department, and even from within and across the globe in carrying out researches aimed at understanding psychological influences on students' learning.
