DR. CHUKWUANUGO NKEMAKONAM OGBUAGU (simply Dr Anugo) is a Public Health Parasitologist, University Lecturer, Clinical Researcher on Infectious Diseases, and Infectious Disease Expert. He received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Parasitology and Entomology in 1998 graduating with a Second Class Upper division, MBBS (Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery) in 2005, Master of Science (MSc) in Public Health Parasitology in 2009 and a PhD in Public Health Parasitology and Epidemiology (FCGPA 4.42) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State Nigeria. He lectured briefly at the Anambra State University Uli (2009-2011) in the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology.
He is a visiting Senior Lecturer and scholar in the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences of Kampala International University (KIU) Uganda. As a Senior Faculty member in KIU Uganda, he developed curriculum for PhD program and actively involved in MSc supervision.
He was a scholarship award recipient at the Ninth EDCTP Forum in Portugal. He is also a certified WHO-TDR Implementation Research Fellow 2018, Africa Research Excellence Fund Fellow (UK) 2019, as well as a trained Advocacy Expert (UK) 2018. Dr Anugo is actively involved in both social and religious activities.
He is the President of Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Nigeria (ADAN) the only organization coordinating all Alzheimer’s and Dementia related old-age diseases activities in Nigeria registered with the cooperate Affairs Commission. He attended the Alzheimer’s University Advocacy in London 2018 as the only representative of Nigeria on Dementia Policy.
He is passionate about humanity evidenced by his role and membership of Rotary international. He was the President of Rotary District 9140 in the year 2014 ‘‘Light up Rotary’’ year.
Dr Anugo is a member of West Africa College of Physician (MWACP) in Community Health.
