Dr Ogechukwu Aribodor, a Public Health Parasitologist is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Zoology, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria. She is presently the Youth Champion and a Member, Social Innovation in Health Initiative (SIHI) Nigeria Hub, African Research Excellence Fund (AREF) Fellow, IS Global Barcelona Institute of Global Health Alumnus, an advocate of equitable access to quality health by all, promotion of School Feeding, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Her research interest covers Infectious Diseases of Poverty with special interest in Genital Schistosomiasis, Crowdfunding, Health Systems Strengthening and Bio-remediation. Her research aptitude has won her several competitive research and travel grants including the prestigious Middle Eastern Biology of Parasitism (MeBoP) 2022 training grant in University of Bern, Switzerland. She was also the Principal Investigator (PI) in the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) institution-based research award and the World Health Organisation (WHO) Africa Regional Office grant to implement her research projects. She has relevant certifications including the WHO/TDR MOOC on Implementation Research (IR) with a focus on Infectious Diseases of Poverty (IDP) 2022. She is a member of some professional organizations including Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria (PPSN), Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), The NTD Non-Governmental Development Organizations Network (NNN) WASH Working Group, improving Community Health Outcomes through Research, Dialogue and Systems Strengthening (iCHORDS) etc. Through her research, she has contributed to public health understanding of infectious diseases of poverty in Nigeria and Africa. She is a mentor and has organized many youths’ engagement outreach programs. She served as Cluster Leader of COVID-19 Task Force Committee for PPSN in collaboration with Anambra State Ministry of Health to engage local communities in an attempt to effectively control the spread of COVID-19. She is widely published in reputable peer-reviewed journals. She is passionate to build a successful research group, influence her discipline, and engage with impact or innovation outside of academia. Hence,she is open to cross-border collaborations that promote comprehensive approaches of significant contribution to the field of Public Health Parasitology and Community Practice, especially providing information on the control mechanisms, cost-effective exchange programs and the development of effective work synergies towards better health outcomes.
