Dr. Ogechukwu B. Aribodor is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Zoology at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria. She is actively involved as the Youth Champion and a Member of the Social Innovation in Health Initiative (SIHI) Nigeria Hub and holds fellowships with the African Research Excellence Fund (AREF) and Middle Eastern Biology of Parasitism (MeBOP). She is an alumna of the IS Global Barcelona Institute of Global Health. Driven by a commitment to equitable access to quality health, she advocates for initiatives such as School Feeding, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). Her research expertise lies in Infectious Diseases of Poverty, including Genital Schistosomiasis, Crowdfunding, Health Systems Strengthening, and Bio-remediation. Dr. Aribodor's research contributions have been recognized through competitive research and travel grants, including the prestigious Middle Eastern Biology of Parasitism (MeBoP) 2022 training grant at the University of Bern, Switzerland. She has also led research projects funded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) Africa Regional Office. She holds relevant certifications in Implementation Research (IR) and Public Engagement from the WHO/TDR MOOC. Actively engaged in professional organizations such as the Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria (PPSN),the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), the NTD Non-Governmental Development Organizations Network (NNN) WASH Working Group, improving Community Health Outcomes through Research, Dialogue and Systems Strengthening (iCHORDS) etc., she contributes to public health understanding in Nigeria and Africa. Dr. Aribodor is a mentor and has organized numerous outreach programs for youth engagement. Her leadership skills were evident as the Cluster Leader of the COVID-19 Task Force Committee for PPSN, collaborating with the Anambra State Ministry of Health to control the spread of the virus. With a notable publication record in esteemed peer-reviewed journals, she also serves as a reviewer for reputable journals. Currently, Dr. Aribodor holds the position of Guest Editorial Member for the Mental Health, Stigma, and Neglected Tropical Diseases Supplement in International Health (RSTMH). Driven by a passion to build a successful research group, influence her discipline, and extend impact beyond academia, she welcomes cross-border collaborations that contribute significantly to the fields of Public Health Parasitology and Community Practice. Her focus lies in sharing knowledge on control mechanisms, cost-effective exchange programs, and developing effective work synergies to achieve better health outcomes.
