Bro. Nwachukwu John-Jr Obiakor hails from Oraukwu in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Second Class Upper) from the Department of History and International Studies, Nnamdi Azikiwe University in 2006. In December 2009, Nwachukwu obtained a Master of Arts (Hons) Degree in Social and Political History, from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. In December 2012, he bagged a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Economic and Social History from the same Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He is the National Vice President (South East) of the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN). Prof. Obiakor is the Coordinator, Alumni Relations, Office of the Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He also served as Head of History and International Studies, UNIZIK, between January and September, 2024. He is a community leader, an initiate of the 'Ozo Ozalla' Oraukwu, a social crusader and a socialite. His area of specialisation is Contemporary Economic and Social History of Nigeria and Africa. He is proudly married to Dr Chimezie Stella.
