Staff Profile

Sunday Nduka is an academic Pharmacist with the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Management, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria. He started his carrier as a young Pharmacist at the University in 2011 and has the responsibilities of teaching, conducting research, and mentoring students. His passion for improving therapeutic outcomes and patients’ safety influenced his choice of Clinical Pharmacy as his primary department in Pharmacy with a specialty in clinical pharmacokinetics and health service research. He has a good number of publications in reputable journals to his credit. Dr. Nduka’s further desire to improve Universal Health Coverage in Nigeria and beyond through health commodity security influenced his venturing into Health Logistics and Supply Chain Management after being nominated for training in this area by his mentor, Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone in 2012. He later became a certified USAID/SCMS/JSI training partner in supply chain management for medicines and other health commodities. Dr. Nduka has attended several training workshops organized by USAID/SCMS/JSI, HELP Logistics, and ARC among others including the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology MicroMaster’s training on Supply Chain Management. He is also a certified Supply Chain Analyst with the International Supply Chain Education Alliance. As an academic staff in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nduka has been coordinating logistics and supply chain management of medicines and other health commodities training to pharmacy students and has successfully graduated more than eight sets of students since 2013. Presently, he is the coordinator of the newly approved postgraduate degree program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University. In addition to organizing and facilitating training workshops on supply chain management for practicing pharmacists and other professionals, Nduka has undertaken a good number of assessments and studies in Supply Chain Management spheres for the Nigerian government and their partners in Kano State, Yobe State, Lagos State, Adamawa State, Enugu State, Abia State, and Anambra State among others. Dr. Nduka obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in 2007 and then, a Master’s degree and Ph.D. from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Management in 2010 and 2015 respectively from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Nigeria. He is happily married to Pharm. Ifeoma Nduka and their marriage is blessed with children to the glory of God.
