Dr Okpara Henry Chima is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Pathology,Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences, College of Health Sciences ,Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Nnewi Campus. He was formerly the Head, Deparment of Immunology and later Department of Chemical Pathology of the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences. His areas of research interest include: endocrinology and metabolism, metabolic medicine, immunology and immunodiagnostics. Dr okpara has more than 50 published research articles in both local and international journals. He has held leadership positions in several universities, university teaching hospitals, and professional bodies. He is actively involved in the education and training of undergraduate medical students, postgraduate students and resident doctors in chemical pathology/clinical chemistry.He has also won academic awards including the best lecturer for successive years in various universities. Dr Okpara is involved in a good number of ongoing research projects including evaluation of the roles of adipokines in obesity, insulin resistance, and their comorbidities. He is happily married with four children.
