I was born in Lagos Mainland, Health Center, Apapa on the 6th of July 1971.
I had my primary and secondary school education in Festac-Town, Lagos. After secondary school, left for Austria where I underwent in in-house training in Hospitality on Alpengasthof, Vomperberg and took professional certificate courses in Hospitality Management in Wirtschaftskammer, Schwaz, both in Tyrol, Austria. I moved to Innsbruck, where I began a brief sojourn at Leopold Franzens Universität, Innsbruck (University of Innsbruck), and wrote the German entrance examinations into the university while working at the same time in Holiday Inn, later Hilton Innsbruck. I gained admission to study translation, but decided to move to Germany for my studies.
Moving to Germany, I gained admission in 2003 to study Romance linguistics at Otto-Friedrich Universität Bamberg, in Germany. I concluded my Masters in Iberian Romance Philology (Spanish/Italian) in 2007. In the same year, 2007, I began a PhD programme in the same university, and graduated in 2010 with Magna cum Laude in Romance studies and Linguistics.
I eventually returned home to Nigeria in 2010 and got employed as a Spanish Lecturer in the Department of Modern European Languages, Faculty of Arts, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. I started as a Lecturer II, and moved steadily through the ranks to the level of an Associate Professor in 2019.
