PROFILE OF PROF. AMADI, JUDE EZEJIOFOR AMADI, Jude Ezejiofor is an accomplished scholar and a Professor of Botany, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka from 2015. He started his career at the University of Ilorin in 1990 and transferred his services to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in July 2010. Prof. Amadi has served in many University, Faculty and Departmental Committees both at Ilorin and Awka and has been Head of Department severally in both places. Prof. Amadi read Botany at UNN, and did his Masters and PhD at the University of Ibadan (UI). His area of specialization is Plant Pathology. Prof. Amadi has been fairly exposed having benefited from three Postdoctoral Fellowships that exposed him to excellent research opportunities in Brock University, Ontario, Canada in 1995; US Dept. of Agric., Maryland, USA in 1999 and the University of the Orange Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa in 1999/2000. So, Prof. Amadi can be said to be an International Scholar. Sabbatical Leave has taken Prof. Amadi to Enugu State University of Science & Technology (ESUT), Shell Petroleum & Development Company (SPDC), Portharcourt and the Kogi State University, Anyigba. Prof. Amadi has been a member of the NUC Accreditation Teams to Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State, the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and Federal University of Technology, Minna. In June 2024, Prof. Amadi represented Nigeria in a two-week Seminar in China on Poverty Alleviation. Prof. Amadi is a good administrator who has taken his Departments at Ilorin and Awka through successful Accreditation Exercises. He is a good mentor and has supervised a number of PhDs of which some are Professors. He has also supervised many M.Sc. candidates and uncountable number of B. Sc. Projects. Prof. Amadi is well respected in his Community. He coordinated the land lease Agreement for the establishment of a Marist University in his home town, Akpakwume, Udi LGA of Enugu State. Prof. Amadi has served as External Examiner, Assessor and/or Adjunct Lecturer to many Universities including the University of Ibadan, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT), Kogi State University, Anyigba, Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Awka, Delta State University, Abraka, University of Sokoto, Paul University, Awka and Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu. Prof. Amadi has many scholarly publications in both local and international journals. He is happily married and has three children.
