Dr. Noreen Ebelechukwu Agbapuonwu, PhD, RN, FWACN, is an Associate Professor of Nursing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus. Anambra, Nigeria. She is the Coordinator of Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing courses and programmes in her department. Her areas of speciality include Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing, Nursing Education and Public Health Education She received her Bachelors degree in Nursing, from University of Ibadan, Nigeria and then graduated as Nurse Educator in 1990 after which she worked briefly with Ministry of Health, Kaduna. Noreen also holds M.Sc. in Public Health Education, M.Sc. in Nursing (Mental Health Specialty) and Ph.D. in Public Health Education. Her research program focuses on Evidence Based Nursing education and practice, mental health issues of the community, health education, maternal and child health, and best practices in nursing profession. Currently, she's is working as site PI on a project: “Community-engaged assessment of mental health services and research infrastructure to improve access to care for adults with mhGAP disorders in Nigeria” with other researchers from various countries.
