Dr. Justina Chimezie Akulue is a LECTURER I in MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY Department, Faculty Of Medical Laboratory Science in Nnamdi Azikiwe University

Staff Profile

Justina Chimezie Akulue is a Medical Laboratory Scientist and a Parasitologist. She has special interest in Medical Microbiology (Parasitology Specialty) and other infectious diseases. She graduated with Higher National Diploma (HND) in Science Laboratory Technology (Microbiology option) at Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu. She later got an Associate in Medical Laboratory Science at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi. She went further and got her Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) and Master of Science (M.Sc) both in Parasitology and Entomology in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. She is currently running her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme.

Justina Akulue has published about 18 articles in both local and international journals. She has served the institution in several capacities including: Students' project supervision, Students course advising, Laboratory posting supervision, Teaching of practical and theory courses of 200 level to 500 level students of Medical Laboratory Science Department even 300 level theory courses of Nursing science and Radiography students.

She has served as a Welfare Officer in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology. She is also a member of Academic Societies like: Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN), Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria (PPSN), American Society for Microbiology (ASM) etc.

Justina Akulue is a member of the Noble Order of Knight of St.John International(KSJI) Onitsha Grand Ladies Auxiliary and have held the following post in her Local AUxilliary: Past Respected president, Financial Secretary and currently a member of the Board of Trustee. She is currently the Vice President Catholic Women Organisation (C.W.O.) Onitsha Branch of her town (Abacha) and have served as Secretary of Abacha Development Union (A.D.U.) Onitsha Branch. She also served as the Vice President of the Catholic community in her Parish where she resides. She has given several health talk during Women August meeting of her Parish(ST. JOHN PAUL 11 CATHOLIC CHURCH 3-3 NKWELLEZUNAKA).
