Edith Nkechi Chiejina Ph.D, is a Professor of Nursing Science in Department of Nursing Science, Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology, College of Health Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka (Nnewi Campus). She is a Registered Nurse/Midwife with Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Education (Second Class Honours, Upper Division) from University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. She is a Registered Nurse Educator and Registered Midwife Educator. In addition, she obtained Master Degree in Educational Psychology (December 2000) and Ph.D in Educational Psychology (October 2005) with FCGPA of 5 in a 5 - point scale from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka. She is a versatile nurse lecturer especially in her areas of specialty.
she was once the Acting Principal of Anambra State School of Nursing Nkpor, and the Foundation Principal of Anambra State School of Midwifery Nkpor. Administrative posts held by Edith Chiejina in Nnamdi Azikiwe University were HOD Nursing 2008 - 2009; 2014-2016, Sub - Dean Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology Nnamdi Azikiwe University July 2010 - Sept. 2014. She has also functioned as Chairman and Member of many committees for the university.
Edith N. Chejina has published many articles in both National and international journals, she has also authored two books namely "Psychology Applied to Nursing and Related Fields (2009)" and "Human Behaviour in Health and Diseases: Nursing Interventions (2010)". she is a reviewer for many international journals
she has successfully completed supervision of postgraduate M.Sc and Ph.D research projects, and is currently supervising many M.Sc and Ph.D students' research projects.
Edith Chiejina is external examiner to Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (N & MCN) as well as Departments of Nursing of Many Nigerian Universities, she has served N & MCN in the capacity of special assignments, and also functioned as Member of Task Force on Accreditation of Hospitals and Training Institutions under Anambra State Ministry of Health (2006), Member, NUC Accreditation Panel, and External Assessor for promotion of staff to the ranks of Associate Professors and Professors for some universities in Nigeria. Apart from academic work, Edith Chiejina is a believer in fairness and justice.
