Chinyelu Angela Ekwunife(nee Emejulu) a professor at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria is a scientist that specialises in Public Health Parasitology and Epidemiology. She holds a Doctorate Degree in Zoology(Parasitology) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2003). She also has certificates in WHO Scholar Level 1 on Female Genital Schistosomiasis(2021),Gender Based Analysis for Vector Borne Diseases and Climate Change(GBA) 2021, WHO/TDR MOOC Implementation Research (IR) with focus on Infectious Diseases of Poverty(IDP) 2018, TDR/WHO Ethics in Research (2008) and Molecular Biology for DNA Techniques(2006) among others. She has served and is still serving her Faculty and the University in many capacities. At present, she is the Associate Provost(Sciences) of College of Postgraduate Studies Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. She is a member of WHO Social Innovation in Health Initiative NAU Nigeria Team. Chinyelu was the immediate past National Secretary and currently the National Treasurer of Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria, member International Society for Infectious Diseases among others. Chinyelu has won several travel grants awards for Neglected Tropical Disease Nongovernmental Organization Network (NNN) conferences to different parts of the world. She has successfully supervised over 30 MSC and 4 PhD students and has over 50 publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals. She has received some Travel Awards Grants, served as consultant to Carter Center and UNICEF and coordinated researches for Federal Ministry of Health.
