I am Mbagwu, Davidson Ugochukwu. I am a native of Umuonuocha in Atta Ikeduru, Imo State. I was born on March 22, 1972 into the family of David and Alice Mbagwu as their first child and son. I had my primary education at Atta Community Primary School and secondary education at Aquinas Secondary School, Osu Mbano. My tertiary education began at Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Owerri where I obtained NCE (English/Igbo) and BA Ed (Igbo/Linguistics) of the University of Nigeria Nsukka. My Postgraduate education started at the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Port Harcourt, where I obtained MA in Linguistics and moved to the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka where I obtained a PhD in Linguistics with Syntax as area of specialization. My Journey as an academic in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka started in September 2005 as an Assistant Lecturer from which rank I grew to the rank of Professor with effect from October 2019.
