Professor Matthew Chukwudi Menkiti is a full professor of Chemical Engineering at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) and a COREN-licensed professional engineer in Nigeria. He was most recently the immediate past Head Of Department of the Department of Chemical Engineering and the elected Faculty of Engineering Representative to UNIZIK senate. He has accumulated over ten years of combined experiences in academic and educational leaderships. He was a Senior Fulbright scholar at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, USA and ex-Fellow of India National Science Academy(INSA) at Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) , Chennai, India. He currently has to his credit over 130 refereed archival papers in learned journals, 6 refereed papers in conference proceedings and 6 book chapters. He has also delivered 4 invited lectures in 3 countries. As a main supervisor, he has successfully supervised and graduated a number of PhD and Masters students. Besides his role as a main supervisor, he has additionally served as internal examiners for numerous PhD and Masters degree candidates. He has mentored 3 post-doctoral research associates. As the head of his research group, he has supervised and mentored over 100 students at the undergraduate level. Prof. Menkiti is an international external examiner to three universities and has sustainably cultivated multi-national collaborations that cut across Europe, Asia and America. His major area of research anchors on water treatment system and engineering design, in addition to application of green chemistry in raw material development and utilization in solving water and environmental problems .  He is a member of the Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers. Professor Menkiti has doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering, in addition to M.S in Environmental Management. His academic/educational experiences have exposed him to taught and practical courses, editorial and reviewing services to world-class journals. He also possess soft skills like quality time management, excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills and good leadership quality.
