Professor Francis O. Nwankwo is a Professor of Cooperative Economics and Management, having attained the rank of Professor in October 2016. He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Cooperative Economics and Management from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu; a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Cooperative Studies from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN); a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Cooperative and Rural Development from the former Anambra State University of Technology; and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Giessen, Germany.
With extensive academic, research, and professional experience, Professor Nwankwo has made significant contributions to the fields of cooperative development, agricultural finance, entrepreneurship, and rural development. His research focuses on the role of cooperatives in promoting agricultural productivity, rural livelihoods, financial inclusion, and sustainable socioeconomic development. He has published widely in reputable national and international journals, successfully supervised over 17 PhD and 21 MSc students, etc., and participated in several research and development initiatives. His scholarly contributions continue to advance knowledge and inform policy and practice in cooperative economics, agricultural finance, and entrepreneurship.
