Staff Profile

John Kanayochukwu Nduka (PhD), a professor in the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, and presently an adjunct professor/lecturer in Industrial Chemistry Department of Madonna University Elele, Nigeria. He is currently the Director of research/chairman of staff disciplinary committee at Madonna University Elele Nigeria. He is the head researcher in the Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology Unit with a focus on public health and was a former head of the department. Dr Nduka has published several scientific articles and is involved in mentoring young academic at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He has served as head and member of the National University Commission resources verification exercise to various universities in Nigeria for Chemistry programme. In 2020, he received a RULA award for international best researcher in environmental chemistry and toxicology. He was also listed among the top 100 researchers by Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He has attended several local and international conferences and workshops and delivered numerous lectures. TETFUND Grant for 2016/2017, 2023/2024 and 2025/2026 University Intervention Fund (institution based research grant with grant ref code, TETF/ES/DR & D/ CE/UNI/AWKA/IBR/2023/VOL.1). Certification of recognition from Elsevier Publishers London for publishing a manuscript that is linked to the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) helping to tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges. Vice Chancellor’s letter of recommendation for been among the first One hundred best Scholars in Nnamdi Azikiwe University by the Scholarship and Awards Committee. Meritorious Service Award as an outstanding Head of Department. UNIZIK Chemistry Department Award of Excellence for publishing up to seven (7) manuscripts in high impact factor journals within 2 years (2022 - 2023). Letter of appreciation from the Provost College of Postgraduate Studies (CPGS) for contributing to the growth of the College.
