Professor Ikeotuonye Victor Okonkwo: Dip. in French Language; BSc (Insurance); Master of Business Administration (Banking and Finance); Ph.D (Cooperative Risk Management and Financing). Ikeotuonye Victor Okonkwo, commonly called Victor Ike Okonkwo is a Christian. He is a Professor of Financial and Risk Management in the Department of Banking and Finance, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Anambra State, Nigeria, and an adjunct Professor in the Department of Insurance and Risk Management, Enugu State University of Science and Technology Enugu, Nigeria. The institutions he attended included Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka - Nigeria (2006 – 2012); University of Orleans, France (1999 –2000); University of Nigeria Nsukka (Enugu Campus: 1993–1995); Anambra State University of Science and Technology, Enugu Nigeria (1987-1991); Christ the King College Onitsha, Nigeria (1980 -1985); and New Bethel Primary School Onitsha, Nigeria (1974 -1980). He is a member of the Academy of Management Nigeria. Ikeotuonye has been exposed to have interest in researching and couching in the financial services discipline. As at 2020, he has successfully supervised over 16 PhD dissertations, 12 MSc theses, 6 PGD research works, and many undergraduate research project reports. Victor Ike Okonkwo has authored a number of relevant textbooks including Motor Insurance Practice in Nigeria (Local and International editions); Portfolio Theory and Management; The Structure and Management of Insurance in Nigeria; Introduction to Insurance: A Nigerian Perspective; and Basic Principles and Practice Insurance. He has also written monographs including Value Added Tax in Nigeria Socio-Economic Management series; Reinsurance Monograph: Volume I and Volume II. He has numerous published research studies and publications in reputable peer reviewed national and international journals; and many other conference papers and seminar presentations. He has attended many relevant workshops and conferences. He has served as the Head of Department of Banking and Finance, Coordinator, Faculty of Management Sciences Diploma programme, and Coordinator, Departmental Postgraduate Studies. He is and accredited postgraduate supervisor, and external examiner for a number Universities for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. His serves as member of National Universities Commission, Ad hoc Accreditation Panel. He served and is serving in various University Senate Committees, Faculty and Departmental Committees as member and Chairman in many. He is a volunteer, serving in Scripture Union Nigeria. He has interest in children and young people discipleship. He believes in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ knowing that the main solution to humanity is recognition and fear of God. Of course, we need to love humanity and do acts within our reach to promote sustainable living among peoples of all nations. Therefore, innovations should gear towards solving problems of humanity not selfishly conceived widening gap in access to resources that will promote descent living among peoples. Area of academic and research interests The Area of academic and research interests include Financial and Risk Management; Insurance; Securities Market; Financial Technology and Economic development.
